Does anyone know how you'd switch the lights from UK driving for European driving as not to blind upcomming traffic? I can't seem to find anything in the manual or maybe I've missed it. Question for those who have done the euro trips.

Or just not bother as the beam cut off (for HID's at least) is extremely precise, and shouldn't really cause an issue.

^^ What C said. My last car had a setting for foreign driving but not this one. Works fine without.

Thanks Adam, off to Italy and wanted to be sure around deflectors for the trek.

Deflectors aren't going to do anything - except perhaps keep a Carabinieri happy.

For years I've put a small mask of black insulation tape - between 7 o'clock and 9 o'clock, if you visualise a headlight as a clock. Equally it does nothing, but it does save you a tenner at the ferry port.

Recently I've completely given up. I'm gambling if I get stopped, I'll claim the computer does it automatically; I'll show them the speedo switched to kilometres. Unless they have a portable MoT headlight tester they won't be able to challenge that. I'm guessing they know that so many executive cars do this through software these days that they have completely given up policing deflectors.
