Hi guys
My 2013 GTS has developed a fault in that the drivers side headlight washer has come out to spray but just seems loose as in it won’t pull back in but is hanging out slightly.
Without taking the whole bumper off, any recommendations to fix this or what it may be?
Picture is front of car to show washer panels but not showing defective as I haven’t taken a photo of it yet…94029670-52BF-44B0-8D57-E52A4162C904.jpeg

This is exactly what I’ve got at the moment! And I keep forgetting to ask on here.. Hopefully there’s a fix otherwise it will stay loose until it goes to sportsItalia later in the year.

I have the same problem with the 42 every winter the drivers side pops out half inch i leave it till the water thaws out and push it back in and it clicks and locks into place one year it was floppy loose like yours i pulled it out completly and i could see how it locks together.
Also keep an eye on the water level just in case the unit leaks but as conaero says frost is the killer and dont try pushing it back in when frozen.
This fix may work for your motor if the units are the same lets see what other members have to say on the subject those with the same motor as yours.

Thanks… the car is always garaged but it has been outside a couple nights so maybe that’s why.
What’s the ballpark figure to get repaired if doing myself isn’t possible? Kent based.

Oh i forgot to mention in the winter when it freezes it pushes the spray nozzle out and when it thaws it retracts back flush with the bumper quite common just check it out when it thaws its just the ice in the unit pushing it out.

If it’s of any help to anyone, I have a new telescope part without the spray head.

We are replacing loads of these at the moment. The washer system freezes and the ice expansion rips the spray head off.

Did 2 yesterday and I believe no more stock at the factory.
Hello Conaero, if there is no more stock at the factory and a broken headlight washer is an MOT fail do you know if these things can be repaired?

You can bond the head on yes. Personally I would go hot staple each side but if you go through it will leak out the hole you just made. Qbond over the top to be sure.

Proper mansplaining there, can I have a go? :D

I won’t use the “ready to use” screen wash because it generally only gives protection down to -5 or -6, which is fine until it’s -8.

There is also a problem if you don’t use your car much. You put a summer mix of screen wash in, then add more concentrate in for winter. But this only protects the contents of the bottle, the bit in the pipe is still the summer mix and it still freezes with the obvious result. So always use the winter mix is my view.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve pulled it right out today, and I believe as stated, maybe the end was slightly protruded. So have pushed it back and let go and it’s sat back into its slot perfectly.
Saved me a trip to the dealer!
Thats what i call a cheap Maserati fix well done

Hello, new owner here with a 2015 GTS.
I've noticed the driver side flap is a tiny bit loose. Then I noticed the headlight washer wasn't working at all.. anyway took a look at the fuse box and f85 was not fitted, just loose! Refitted the fuse and the washers work fine it seems, but still the driver side is a tiny bit loose (half a mm of play). I've tried pulling it out and pushing back bit it's still the same.
Any further thoughts? Also do people remove the fuse and then put back just for the MOT? Seems odd to do that except to avoid issues with flaps flying off or frozen tubes?

The covers have a habit of going missing if you use the headlight washers at high speed, so they probably pulled the fuse to stop that happening. Not a bad idea to be fair…

Hmm interesting might do the same although I understood that the washers don't operate above 75mph, or do they fly off even before then!
Still not sure how to get the driver side cover to sit completely flush..

I’ve lost one, so yes, it happens.

Is the cover loose? It’s either because the cover is loose or the telescope isn’t retracting far enough or the spray head isn’t fully home.

When I pulled it out manually, there is a little play in the cover but thought maybe this is normal as part of fitting snug when it retracts although I couldn't compare with the other side due as that one is completely flush.
