3200 brake problems

Need a bit of advice here. Brakes have never been great on my 3200 since ive owned it. Ive had it off the road for the past 6 months and am getting it ready for its MOT tomorrow. Put new pads in today all round and changed brake fluid and all bled through. Brakes are still very bad. I really have to push ******* the brakes to get it to stop and no matter how hard i brake my foot is going right to the floor. Experience tells me master cylinder but i dont want to buy parts on a trial and error basis. Do you think there is a rebuild kit available for the master cylinder? After all its only o rings. Is there any other parts of the braking system such as the ABS block/ecu that could cause these problems?
thanks for any help and i am very desperate now as MOT due tomorrow afternoon

Also, where is the vaccuum source for the servo taken from? I followed the main vac line from the servo and it runs along the bulkhead of the car into a non return valve and into the passenger side airfilter housing?? Surely there isnt enough of a vac source here????

After reading as far as I can see it corrosion under the pad guides, that narrow the gap the pads slide in and thus makes them stick. Sticking pads will give you very poor brake performance and juddering when pushed hard from speed.

oops, didnt see the link, cheers Matt. This could well be my problem. My pads were stuck fast and i did have to remove all 4 calipers to remove the pads. I also needed to grind the new pads in to make them fit. I put this down to the cheap pads i fitted to get me through my MOT. At least i plan on fitting the Ferodos in the next few weeks so will take a much better look then.]=

Leigh, if your pads are stuck in the calliper, that is your problem for sure. You need to file down the pads and clean and grease the guides (making sure not to contaminate the friction surfaces).

I have a set of rear Ferrodos that you are welcome to if you replace them, but you will have to come pick em up from Chichester.

When I first heard about filing of pads I was horrified, but further research, its very common practice, so don't worry about it.

As the pads get hot and they do, the sticking becomes even worse due to expansion.
