Apparently mine according to Maranello Concessionaires records was one of the last manual Guida Destra 3200's made in late September 2001, Vin ending with 4354
The last few cars were I think all Automatica, I heard they needed to use up as many of the BTR gearboxes they had in stock.

IIRC the vin start was not zero as it was used before the 3200. If it helps mine was something like 0700 at the end and it was built in summer '99.

Thanks for the info guys, It was something written in a thread about the lambda sensors that got me wondering, in that the last 250 or so made had 4 sensors fitted, mine has 4 but the numbers don't appear to add up. Who do I contact to get the information Dave?

A mate of mine in Italy who's dad worked in the stores at the factory at the time.

Regarding lambda sensors mine has only two fitted and its a very late car!

People on here seem to be having some good results through Maserati Customer Care so maybe try them?
Stu, when you mention 3200's they just sort of make a comment and try to move on
Basically, when it comes to the older models they haven't got a clue!

There mostly all sprogs who have been trained to push the latest product and get in as much cash as they can. You cant blame Fiat, they need all the help they can get!

My VIN ends 3588 and the number for parts is 4865. I had the impression that the last four digits of the VIN reflect the number of the car in the production ( ie 3588th car that left the factory).

That was my impression too but 3200 production did not start at # zero as I think they moved to that VIN sequence earlier.

That surprises me, they have been nothing but helpful with me either via email or on the phone and their customer care is all in Modena now, there is no assistance available in the UK.
I'm not sure whether or not the 3200 falls into the Classiche department but they too are very helpful - let me know if you need their contact deets

The 3200 is definitely in the jurisdiction of the Maserati Classiche Department. In 2012, I have asked questions about AC production numbers and back then I received a (very thorough) response from Maserati Classiche Dept. The total AC production nrs metioned above (136 manual and 96 auto) correspond with the info I received in 2012.

I agree, I have contacted costumer care via email twice to confirm whether the car has had the recall campaigns and to ask if it is a series 2 and they have been very helpful and extremely polite.
