Al ,

I have Tutela Matryx in the diff , looked same as that bottle , I think all matryx is 75/85 . Regarding the ATF fluid , I didn't notice any real difference at all when warm and moving - the getrag boxes are quite "positve feel" anyway !
It was only that from cold the ATF was a little easier for the first few changes .

Interesting. I've just ordered some specialist oil suitable for the LSD, as it appears regular diff oil isn't upto scratch. I'll have both, I'll try the new first and if it causes a problem I'll go to what maserati have supplied.

I've ordered SAE 80 Castol EP for the gearbox.

And selina racing for the engine.

Who'd of thought oil would be so complicated.... I'm sure all the above is totally wrong

All sounds ok to me , above all you are running Selenia Racing in the engine , I have heard all manner of arguments for "later newer technology oil" , but my car has run Selenia which was the oe oil since day 1 and I have no issues with that . Whenever I have changed the box or diff oil it has looked like new :approve:

I'm very keen to see what you come up with as a fix on this.

You have to love the italian solutions....

We borrowed a 3200 diff from David A a couple of months ago for some R&D
There not a lot of info or parts available...Its basically a ZF Muliplate Diff, the plates are still readily available from ZF UK
You can get bearings, but the shims will have to be made specially and in more than one size

Will keep you posted

Well I changed the lot today; engine oil, oil filter, air filters, gearbox oil and diff oil. What a difference! Smoother and much much quieter. The oils that came out of the gearbox and diff looked the same; red, so assume ATF fluid.

Took around 3 hours for the lot, all in all very pleased...

Can you get the oil filter out without removing anything,as it looks fairly tight in there..

Just released the top right inlet hose and it lifted up and out. The only thing worth noting is that unless you cover the belt the oil filter empties on to it. Luckily I noticed how close it was and made sure I had a rag strapped over it and it kept it nice and dry. It is a bit messy so make sure you have plenty of catch tanks!
