3200 Indicators & alarm

Have lost indicators/hazards & alarm. Have had numerous battery resets & jump starts due to a faulty (new) battery & alternator problems (now resolved). Usually after a reset, the hazards will flash & red alarm light on the dash is on - now nothing. I would suspect a relay but have gone through the manual & done a search on here with no luck. I will have to use a side-of-the-road garage as I am miles away from a good indie or dealer. Anyone point me to the correct relay before I get a bag of bits back from the apologetic nocando mister "mechanic" ? Thanks for any response.

Hi,

Have you checked the fuses in the footwell? It might be one of those, I know that fuse 16 is usually related to problems with the vertical accelerometer (which can be fixed with araldite) and that takes out the rear lights amount other things.

Hope this helps,

Steve

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply - immediately after I posted I thought I should have said I've checked the fuses - number 16 anyway - all OK, so I am still looking for the relay.

The alarm should arm without having hazards working.

Do your hazards work at all, when activated from the dash?
Do you indicators work at all?
Can you arm / disarm the alarm?

Hi Catman, Got three for three No, No & No [at least I found out why the lack of power when under the lid, aforementioned mechanic had left the turbo hose off where it disappears into the bulkhead].

Goooooood mechanic!

OK if none of those circuits work, does everything else?

I know you've said you did (several) battery resets, but with jump starts? Have you done a 'proper' turn it off, go away for an hour, turn it back on and see job? With a good battery of course?

If you do (have done that) and the problems persist I'd reckon fuses then it's going to be good old poking around with meters and test lamps :(

Everything else works, main lights/rear & brake lights. Will get back in the footwell & have a good look at all the fuses, as it is on here somewhere that some of the fuses are in series. Oh & yes did an overnight battery reset - try explaining that to the wife [when I switch it on again it will be OK]

Heh. Done it.

OK don't forget there are fuses in the boot as well (or at least on the 4200)
