3200 Instrument lighting not working

Can anyone shed light on this problem (excuse the pun), my instrument binnacle lighting has stopped working along with the climate control dial lighting although the buttons in the centre console are lit up but.

If it's not a simple fix is it better to take it to a Maserati specialist or get an auto electrician in, I am slightly wary of specialists at the moment.

Simple fix - if you have inadvertently turned the brightness down

I wish it was that simple, I have already tried that, I may try removing the binnacle to see the dimmer is faulty as this is the only common item.

This is now fixed, it was the rheostat at the back of the binnacle that was faulty, it is a part in its own right and costs about £60 from Eurospares (has to be ordered from the factory). It takes about an hour to remove the binnacle and change the part so its not a difficult job, please be aware that the rheostat contains a small circuit board encased in resin on the back that performs some current limiting functions so you cannot simply replace it with a pot from Maplins (something I tried ), it has to be the original item.
