A lot of work and looks a great job will be interesting to see if you notice an improvement in performance with the new turbo's. The engine is the heart of a Maserati and its nice to see it looking so pristine.

That's an appropriate choice of paint Beau, as it's usually the engine that stops the 3200 from moving. ;)

Thanks Deano, you have answered a question that's been nagging me for the past 5 years.

My engine went bang, well it didn't go bang, more like a loud thud thud thud noise, when it happened first thing i did was to look up as i thought it was a low flying helicopter or something...

Turns out it was a chunk of metal in the number 5 cylinder. was pondering where the **** it came from. Strange thing i noticed upon stripping the engine down ( apart from the halfords ratchet handle in the "V" of the block) was the 2 different date codes on the turbos. Thought one has been replaced.. but why.

Looks like mine had the same fault as your did, but the f**kwits who did the repair never bothered to clean out the mess. Just sell it on quick (to me) So the nut eventually found a new home at the end of the spark plug.

Count your lucky stars mate, your engine could of ended up looking like this ....

Ouch indeed, I bought the car for a restoration project.. and my god that's what i got. However got a nice shiny rebuilt engine ready to go back in... but not until ive removed the right side intercooler first!!

Just wish i had more time to enjoy her, 3000 miles in over 6 years of ownership. Thats the thing about Maserati, they never fail to impress... even when they blow up!

Yes ,that one certainly went pop.i was expecting the same as i was at max boost in 2nd when it went,
A word of advice, stick by your gut instinct,if you feel they are not boosting in synch then there not,.
