4 Maser's in a day

I managed to drive 4 Maserati's this morning so it was a good day. Took the Ghibli in the rain to the Maranello dealership where it sat in the car park next to a Stradale. IMAG0539.jpg

I then took the new Ghibli diesel out to see what the V6 diesel is like (the same engine as the Levante). I was pretty impressed to be honest. I hired a 2014 Ghibli a while back but the new one seems to handle a little better and the noise in sport mode is OK and certainly better than most diesels. So I have kept the option open on the Levante. I get the feeling that they don't have too many pre-orders at the moment.

After that I took out a 2014 Stradale. I've had a GTS in the past and now drive the MCV so it was very familiar and I found it didn't feel as big as I remember it. Had a blast in race mode and came away 100% thinking that I want one, and so for a while I was tempted to let the MCV, but I have concluded that with the Larini exhaust it sounds almost as good, and I think with the carbon seats, twitchy steering and stiff suspension its probably more fun to drive so I think I will be keeping it for now.

Then I climbed back into the Ghibli to take it back to the garage for a month of fettling and pick up the MCV which had a little work done to it. Its odd to go from the Stradale to the 50 year LHD Ghibli, they are both great to drive in different ways but the you notice the engine and exhaust sound a lot more in Ghibli (due to the lack of any form of sound proofing), (and you get the fresh smell of petrol through the vents

The only downer today was finding an egg shaped bulge on my front tyre - looks like I hit a pothole. £300 down the toliet and now I need to find somewhere that can get in the correct version of the P-zeros.

love your Ghibli. Nearly bought a mint one for £35k 12 years ago and then along came #1 so never happened. How I regret not going ahead!!!

Anyway the new Ghibli is really growing on me. An S in that lovely blue (can't remember the hue) with a tan or cream interior would be lovely.

One thing about the Strads though. Boy do they eat tyres! Will be onto my 3rd set in the next 500 miles I reckon and I really do not drive it fast as where I live, the car is as wide as the lanes!!

Spec and details of R5 please!

If I was going for a scooby now it would be either a 22B or a STi version 5 Type RA V limited.

Yes I can imagine they do go through tyres with that weight and power.
