Hi All,

Haven't been on the forum for a couple of years and couldn't seem to log in with the old details so back under a new name, hope everyone is well.

This problem, door locking and unlocking occurred tonight but I seem to remember a similar problem a number of years ago that was solved pretty easily(wish I could remember what solved it). I've tried a battery reset but no good. Has anyone seen this issue before, anyone have any thoughts ? I seem to remember the car thinks something is stuck or obstructed, if I remember rightly.

One think that does worry me and may be related is the door lock switch (black with red switch) has gone floppy on the passenger side, don't know if this has anything to do with it.

Thanks in advance for any help

It'll almost certainly be the lock solenoid in the lock unit. Not expensive but a bit of a PITA to fix. Use the key. The door which enables the car to lock 'cleanly' is the one with the failing lock

Hi Catman,

Thanks and that makes sense as after some time I worked out it could only be locked from the passengers door which seems to be the offending door. Many thanks and off to the garage then.

Cheers

No problem and good luck. The units are only about £40 from memory. <2 hours to fit.

Thanks for that info as well, did have a look on line and saw some bits for circa £40 and others for £350. so must be the former. Really helps for the garage conversation.
