Hi folks, Ok - I am new not only to this forum but also to Maserati/ Always loved them ever since way back when - just never got round to owning one. ill post a profile later and get up to speed. I bought a rather nice Red Maserati 4200 Coupe - 2004 vintage but with only 28k on the clock and great condition but....... couple of small issues. This one is the Rear Window Seal - exterior. This is the rubber seal trim that goes around the rear screen - it is suffering from age. I don't know if it is originally bonded to the glass to keep its shape or if it just sits flush with the glass anyway. Problem is mine doesn't.
on the two edges left and right the rubber is rippled away from the glass in the area above the rear screen heater wires.
it appears to me that the this seal/trim comes complete with a rear screen attached for around £1500 plus fitting - is that right?
So looking to bond the rubber to the glass to sit flush and seal does anyone have any suggestions on what to use - needs to be a professional rubber/glass bonding agent - I have a couple in mind but wondered if anyone has beaten me to it. Lessons are there to be learned not repeated?
Many thanks, in advance.
