4200 cutting out

Hi, i have a manual 4200. Drove the car today and cut out twice when slowing down, doing around 10 mph. After this, starts 1st time. Dashboard lights stay on so presumably not electrical. I guess it could be any one of a number of things but hoping can get some ideas here. I'm a bit lost now with the sad closure of SportsItalia.

Any check engine light? Might be worth a scan but couple of *possibles*
Loose battery connection
Loose ground strap.
Maybe loose connection to fuel pump. (Had this on an old Alfa 75. Nothing like the joy of complete loss of power at 70.000 mph in lane 3 of the M11)

Thanks both. No warning lights. The car is having the headlining replaced at the moment but i'll check the other items mentioned when i have it back.

I’ve had this issue twice in the past 4 months, literally within 5 mins of the journey both times.

I spoke to my Maserati mechanic and he suggested that I sit in the car and leave ignition on for 20 secs ( which I generally do anyway ) and then let it run for a minute or so before driving.

I’ve not had the issue since and he will plug it in to check codes in a couple of weeks when I see him.

Nothing to say re: cutting out but as above, mine loves chucking codes and warning lights unless it's 'persuaded' at cold start anyway....
Wouldnt make a very good get away car...!

This was happening to me as well! Turned out to be a crank position sensor. Code was not locked in, mechanic caught it on test drives with a code reader attached.
Replaced sensor and it hasn’t happened since.
Hope this helps!
