Looks like you are making the same jump i did! From Brera to Maserati. I opted for a GranSport in the end. Best of luck finding the right one. They do pop up!

As someone who is pretty new to the Maserati scene myself i agree you will not be disappointed with a 4200, particularly if it is your first "exotic" car. Just take your time and pick carefully - you have come to the right place to find a good one!

Check out the Maserati Club Uk site now and then as the occasional 4200 pops up there.

If I was in your position again I would go for the 4200 as a more use able variant of the coupe as the face lift gives you more bang for the buckthan a GS.

Aye, there's a cracking one (green) on there now. http://www.maseraticlub.co.uk/modern.htm.

To the novice like me, it doesn't look like a face-lift but I'm sure Dicky said all 2004 onwards were face-lifts...

To me having cracking & green so close together seems wrong. Only my opinion but each to their own ;)

There were 2 facelifts for 4200s. The first around 2003 which didn't include any bodywork changes, the second about a year later which has the front nosecone and rear valance update, very similar to the GS.

The green car mentioned above is the first facelift, without the bodywork changes.

Yep, the real facelift that most people talk about was from September 2004 production onwards with the nose/tail/wheels (to 5 spoke) and suspension all being updated. That might have bee the cupholder moment as well!

The earlier facelift - sometime in 2003 - was mainly just the transition from ASR to MSP IIRC but the bodywork was unchanged and the wheels stayed as the 12 spoke ones.

The revised 2004 model with no cosmetic changes was available from May 2003 as I had one of the first demonstrator cars via Carrs of Exeter.
