Mines failed and needs replacing. its the front pre cat one on the passenger side, both sides are the same.

I am off to have a bit of a look round now but can anyone give me any pointers?

Its a Bosch part, thats all I know at the moment.

That's good to know. I am in need of an oil pressure sensor too.

Have been thinking about using the type we use at work, they have a 100bar burst pressure and tend to be utterly reliable. Just need the thread and the signal type if anyone knows it.

I think mine may be failing as well. The needle is sort of quivering.

It may just be the excitement :)

Must be your magnetic personality.

I'll try and source a good second hand one, put it on the pressure rig at work and try and source an alternative. Maybe even a braided hose and mounting it higher up for easier replacement...

Seems unlikely ;)

That, on the other hand, sounds like a very sensible idea.

I don't know him to ask but he sounded in good fettle. Was on holiday when I rang!

Thanks Matt. I reckon that there will be an alternative out there. How much was it out of interest?

Ok from what I can work out there is a separate contact for the warning light which precludes a lot of I stuff I use. WK is the warning contact, G is the signal. 0.75 is the trigger for the warning light and the dead band is 0.15 bar. Can you measure the thread size? Should be m10 x 1.

Should be able to get it from VDO for about £40. Alternatives might be cheaper.

I think we can use a sender from these guys. http://www.v3instruments.com/pdfs/pressure_sender.pdf. Marine application so should be fairly robust. The thread is 1/8" NPT so will probably need an adapted but this might be an advantage as it will move the sender up about 30mm allowing easier replacement in the future. The sender is available on eBay for £26 delivered. Once I get the sender I'll confirm the thread and find an adapter.

Is the product in this thread the "pre-cats problem" that is discussed in this forum as a one of the main problems of the Coupe? (the others being the heater core, F1 pump and relay).
