4200 sport mode: Does your car stay in sport after a restart?

Hi all

Our US colleagues seem to have slightly different behaviour.

My 4200 (Classic) stays in sport across multiple restarts. It only comes out of sport if I turn off the battery or press to turn the mode off.

Apparently the US ones don't do this.

Is my car unusual? Please vote now. PS *Only if 4200s, no GS no MCV or other specials, please.

My 2004 4200 needs the sport button pressing every time I start the car. If there was a way to make it stay in sport mode I'd like to know.

My Classico was the same Chris but with my 2004 you have to put it in Sports mode every time you start her.

3200 here, SPORT mode stay on across restarts BUT you don't really need it in the 3200 as it is in SPORT mode every time you drive it thanks to the far superior torque and power delivery.

2005 4200 have to turn my sports mode on every start up,so can tick that off the list all normal

I think the seal on his gas tank filler neck has gone and petrol fumes are obviously filling the cabin!

Doris needed the sport button pressing every time I started the car. I tried holding it down for a 10-count on a whim to see if it gave in, but nothing changed. It became a reflex in the end.

Mine stays on when i drive and switch for little time. No idea if i switch off and turn on the other day, as before and after every ride, i do it manually. I'll try it this weekend and vote then.

This is me now too. I press it without realising now, much like the window going down when it's not raining

It must be the year Chris. I have to press mine (2005) every time and it's become a natural reaction to turn the key then press the button.
