A couple of 3200s to avoid?

Been a while since I sold my last 3200, but was back on the forum to see the discussion of one of them. Thought I'd have a quick look on eBay to see how prices were holding up...the first two I looked at were a bit ropey; links below in case of interest to anyone looking, and apologies if recently discussed on here:

I recognise the reg of this one - was discussed on MF, and then was being sold a few years ago in Scotland. The boot alignment is terrible! Discussed here: http://www.maseratiforum.co.uk/tm.asp?forumid=5&m=39386&mpage=1&key=ex02

And a Cat D Assetto Corsa....paint match between panels, and the panel gaps around the bonnet don't look quite right in the photos, which tend to flatter. Was this the one that was for sale for 2+ years at a dealer, approx 2010-2012?

Hi mate, how's things with you...How's the Vantage going...Stunning car....

Remember the Cat AC .... IT's been up for sale 3 rimes or more in the last few years..........The panel gap at the front around the lights was pretty bad if I remember right...Suppose he has priced it with this in mind with good AC's going for around 18/19k ..... but yes buyer needs to beware....

Hi, how's life with the Aston? Hope all's good with you. That Cat AC was for sale when I was looking for mine, still have the post accident photos where it is described as a Cat C.

So I suppose the question is........when it was up before we have all said stay clear......but now it is around 10k cheaper than a good AC is it worth looking at and was it that bad.......The car has obviously been used by this chap and not fallen apart and it you get it for 8/9k is it a money pit I wonder......

I can see the argument , and it does save a car for being broken. A few years back there was a few ACs for sale, now they are getting rare. So could be a good reliable car, BUT, would definately need the all important inspection. I have no issue in running a CAT car, you buy it knowing what it is, and sell it accordingly, my old Cerbera was Cat D, and was completely hassle free. It's when you don't get the full story it can become an issue, but that is one of the reasons for these forums and the sharing of knowledge and opinions.

It may be not perfect but there's a market for everything.....

It seems it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find both a straight unmolested 3200 and 4200 these days.

if I was in the market I'd give that AC a serious look. has been run for years according to advert since CAT repair but as said, inspection required.

IT was for sale as a cat back in maseratifroum days so that was some years ago...still going....and must have had some work done to it over the years to keep her going....

tried to persuade fiona to sell her beetle convertible and replace with the spyder..........she mumbled something about "one 15mpg car in the house is enough..." she can be so short sighted at times ! ;)

Stewarts is a lot closer if he's still selling, think of the petrol she'd save not having to travel for it ;)

March 09 was when it was sold pre repair.

Chap says he has had it for 5 years and it was repaired before ge bought it...so must have been just before he purchased it.....I sure I've seen it up for sale a few times since...Mind you he is a dealer so he could of tried to sell it a few times.
