Anyone every replace the standard Airfilter/box set up with a 'bolt-on', K&N type set up (a la Boy Racer type)?

Would such as set up give the car a nervous break-down?

Also thinking of dumping the rubbish standard 4 exhaust and replacing it with a dust bin type.

Having HAD to read this post out of curiousty I then had to look up Otto cycle - I have never heard of it and refered to the 4 stroke cycle simply as 'suck - squeeze - bang - blow'
