Very sorry to see that - not a good start to your day...

How close was the Audi driving behind you then? Stereotypical, I know, but still....

Oh my goodness. So sorry to hear and see this has happened! Hope you are OK?

I am no expert, but I think and hope this is not structural and can be repaired without compromising the integrity and beauty of the car.

Keeping fingers crossed this will all work out fine.

I'm sorry to say, but with the panel damage front and back, the insurance company will most likely write it off. I've seen much less damage and the car has been written off unfortunately.
Not good.

Hawkeye, really sorry to see that. As per other comments, thankfully no one was hurt but what a mess to your car. Good luck getting it resolved and here's hoping you can get it done without messing up your no-claims. I must say, it looks expensive.

every one a little too close for comfort there, always painful to see a Maserati torn up like that, but as you say no-one hurt. I think it might be a right off as there are quite a lot of panels bent, front wings, bumper, bonnet, boot, rear lights, rear bumper, rear chassis cross member. I reckon £10k+ to fix that lot? . Would be interesting to see what the insurance company say.

Ouch, hope you're feeling fine, both front & back can stress the neck a lot. Good Luck with the insurance and I hope you're back behind the wheel of a maser soon...

Glad to hear you and the others not hurt - I was enjoying some of the Roman straights along the A46 only yesterday.

I take it the Audi hit you and pushed you into the back of the truck. Due to the amount of panels that have been damaged, it looks like a certain write-off. BTW, if your neck and shoulders start getting stiff during the course of the day get it checked out, tell the police and your insurance. Good luck with the claim.

Oh b0llocks that is sickening.

I think that one is a write off I am afraid and glad that nobody was hurt and it looks like its not your fault as I assume the Audi rammed you into the truck?

Thanks for all the positive comments. Yes I was stationary waiting for someone to turn right across the traffic & the Audi obviously 'distracted' came up over the Astra behind me & crunched into my rear & hammered me into the flatbed in front. Maserati just arrived at DL in Swindon & early assessment is she will need CPR & may not make it! But sad though it is as you say it us only metal. My back & neck are stiffening up - I'm off to the doc!

I am very happy you are okay. Also glad that truck wasn't sitting higher than it was. I don't know over on that side of the pond, but I did body shop consulting and insurance claims here for a stint. In the U.S., and as it seems evident from the other posters, they would total it out. The damage alone to fix it is almost at or above what the car is worth. As well if the person rear-ended you, I would counsel you to go through their insurance company and not yours. Well again that's if you were here in the U.S. In the U.S. there is no excuse for someone rear ending you but what the insurance companies like to do is pay you and make the other company pay them but by doing so they still assess you fees. I was rear ended in my Mercedes and the insurance begged me to let them handle it. I refused and said not only will I not take responsibility if you increase my insurance by one dollar USD. I will drop you. The claim was handled by the person who hit me insurance company. Almost $6000 USD. My insurance premiums went untouched and I never heard a word about it.
Unfortunately, I do believe that Mas. will be a parts car.
You could have a better view of this though you might have loved the car. In the U.S. when the car is totaled they give you the blue book value of the car. Which for an older Mas. is better because they don't usually sell at blue book value. If you had a bunch of mods done to the car of course this doesn't pay off but trying to look at the glass as half full. Additionally if you had FD DBW, or other things easily removed from the car you could take them off before the car is taking away. Additionally, you can take your check and buy another beautiful Mas. just like this and re-install the mods on that car. Sometimes a shop will work with you to do these type of things for you.

In either case, it is very sad my friend. I am just glad that you were not injured, the truck wasn't sitting higher, and that you are definitely not at fault in the accident. That was a very bad accident. Good luck on finding another car you loved just like this one.
