Air con default setting

When I first got my 3200 about a month and a half ago I would turn the heating/cooling fans on and the air con would be off (ECON light on) - I pressed either the ECON or recirulate button about a week ago and ever since it defaults to air con on and recirculate also on. It doesn't matter what the last setting was, I've even noticed the aircon turning on by itself if I change the temperature...

Is there a way to change what it defaults to? It's not really a problem - just frustrating I can't work it out and it's nagging me :)

my car is the same default is AC on and recirc. it really does not like any thing else and it also tends to steam up in any other setting. I at first got frustrated with it, but now i just ignore it, it seems to work. I also more or less leave the controls on Auto as this works pretty well too. all the other modes will work to some degree, but it will default back to AC on and recirc. Also note it is not nice running the car when the AC is not working, even in cold weather, as the unit does not work well at all, it uses the AC for dehumidifying, to some effect, the so keep your AC up to scratch. when you leave it all on auto its a pretty effective system.

Mine's all a bit odd too... Mine tends to default to air con on, unless I put the temp to max, then the econ light comes on.

I open windows, much better than the **** AC and you get to listen to the lovely soundtrack

I get a 'flutter' noise in the back of the car somewhere with the driver's window down, bit annoying...

The unit defaults cannot be changed but you can reset the unit to standard by doing a battery reset or manually as per attached instructions. If you have selected recirculate mode then the unit does default to ECON to the windscreen misting up.
