I’m with Eb on this, some of you sound like the Viz character.

can I recommend the HMHB ( half man half biscuit) album titled " No one cares about your Creative hub so get your ******* hedge cut"
might suit your taste too. :)
Genuinely funny to me, but good music anyway. They always ***** the social conscience but might be a bit sharp for many modern folk.

I didn’t know that band was still going! I can remember John Peel playing their music back in the ‘80’s. I will look it up.

I need to work on my milk art, but also need some proper coffee cups, as currently just use tea mugs for anyone wanting a flat white or normal black coffee

Nope...this.
Looks a superb machine ............looks idiot proof
You knew things in the coffee world were going a bit woke when they introduced the term Barista for someone that works behind the counter at the local cafe , in my day it was called a tea lady , i can remember joking as a teenager that someday there would come a day things became so stupid that one would need O' and A levels to become a shelf filler in Tesco ......now called a display technician FFS ...............well that time has come

Depends if that employee in the cafe is operating an espresso machine or not ? Was it a coffee shop?

Chef in a Restaurant , Concierge in a hotel etc...

Please lets not go there and pretend that operating an expresso machine is anything akin more difficult to riding a bike or or operating the average laptop ,

actually, being a proper barista is very skilful, I've tasted some awful coffee from some coffee shops because lack of training and/or proper servicing/set up of machines etc
Fully agree. It is not rocket science but the difference between a good barista and an untrained operator is huge. I find it amazing that businesses invest or lease 7k La Marzocco machine and then do not train the employee on how to operate it or adjust the grinder for temperature/humidity to get the right result. It is like keeping fine wine in the kitchen!

"Barista" is the Italian word for the person who serves espresso or wine...so, if you're gonna call it espresso, may as well call the person who made it for you a barista. Unless, as noted above, they are bad at it. In which case, feel free to use whatever term of art you'd like, I guess...

My pet hate; a coffee shop the eulogises about their coffee, takes an age to make it, and then it's not any good!

Style over substance! Been to a few like this...

I love the way for circa 2 euros you can get a great coffee pretty much anywhere in Italy, it's like a national human right or something!

Decades of coffee culture. UK still pretty young. How about we start sharing location for excellent coffee? Great if it could be on a map for when we are travelling but I am not technically competent to do that. I will start in the UK with;

Bath - Colonna and Smalls, 6 Chapel Row, Bath BA1 1HT
Chichester - Common Grounds, 3a Little London, Chichester PO19 1PH
Witney - UE Coffee Roasters, Linkwood Road Windrush Industrial Park, Witney OX29 7HA
Newbury - Podium Place, 31A Bone Ln, Newbury RG14 5SH
Greenwich - Ideal Espresso, Greenwich Market or by Cutty Sark
Swindon - Darkroom Espresso, 11 Faringdon Rd, Swindon SN1 5AR
Oxford - Colombia Coffee Roasters, 106-107 The Covered Market, OX2 7HT

Have bought a toaster, which they don't seem to be that big on either for some reason.

We brits are a bit oddball , I do rejoice when there there is a kettle in the hotel room for a quick tea before I go down for a coffee.

None of that Lipton Sh*T though, its undrinkable! Not designed for milk I guess.
