Dave,

Your photo album is great...full of lovely old faded pics of some great cars...that would be one set of albums I would be happy to be talked through...far better than family holiday snaps or "look here's baby farting" etc

I saw one over at the Nurburgring a few years back. Nice to see one being used in anger and it served to rekindle the lust. It hasn't helped that there were several at Brooklands last week either. Speaking of Brooklands, I only saw one Fiat 127 (my first two cars) - who'd have thought something so humble would be outnumbered by Italian exotica?

Back on topic (again) there is also another car that I would buy in an instant, but you'll laugh - If I ever see an Austin A40 Sport (yes really) I'll find a way to buy it. To explain, it's a childhood thing. Many years ago my father had an A40 Somerset which came with a hardback owners manual complete with sketches of other models in the range. In there was a drawing on the A40 Sport. I've never seen one in the flesh and probably never will, but it was the drawing of that car which turned an impressionable 6/7 year old into a petrolhead.

Completely understandable - I'm not sure what I would do with a 50 hp sports car :saifi3: apart from go everywhere slowly.

I think for me within cars I've owned or could conceivably own, it would be the original Audi quattro turbo. I had a 1987 Ur-quattro 10V car as a daily driver for years, and really loved it.

Tough, tough, tough decision to make... I could go around i endless loops all day pondering that but ultimately I know I'd end up back at Ferrari 550 maranello

or a 512 BB, V8 Aston (late 70's), F50...

Iso Grifo. Best car to have a Griffin badge on it which isn't hard I know. it's such a beast with a 7 litre engine, but I just like it for its lines.

Was in the company of one today, what a piece of art, and only 47 ever made apparently!

Saw an invincta s1 at the weekend, actually three of them including the prototype. And a Tvr typhoon on Monday. So much want, so little time. Sorry, neither are Italian, just good old British failures :)

But the good news is, if inspections and documentation is in order, I might just get to cross another British failure off my list soon. Unless a drop dead gorgeous GTV V6 emerges in the next couple of days I might be opening myself up to a whole world of pain!
