Just won this at an amazing price, one of only 39 in the UK with one original owner and 25k miles.

Damage is mechanical which will result in an engine rebuild as we believe it hit a curb and set the airbags off, still runs and drives.

As many of you know, I have been after 3.2 GTV for ages, Ill just have to slum it in this until I find one.

tasty.
Stick with the spyder. the GTV is like driving a tank, peering out of that letter box windscreen.

Why an engine rebuild if it runs?

I think the 15000 refers to the rebuild cost Ian ! :)

Only joking Matt, looks great.

I will always go for the GTV, I love that letterbox view and the Spiders are the same as the Maserati Spyders in that they are floppy, but we will see I guess.

It needs an engine due to it losing its oil and being run dry. It still runs and sounds fine, so hopefully I can get away with crank grind, oversized bearings and maybe camshafts, rings and cylinder liners but TBH I can buy a 3L V6 with a snapped cambelt for £200 and rag the bits, its only the inlet cams and crank that are different.

Airbags I found on Ebay for £50, so under tray, oil cooler and pipe work, maybe a subframe if I am really unlucky but to be honest, GTV used spares are plentiful and cheap.

I could even find a coupe shell and swap it all over, now there's an idea!

What I will probably do is find a GTV 3L V6 with a snapped cam belt and buy the whole thing £300

Brilliant Matt...A bit of summer fun mate with a great engine to boot.....Are there less 3.2 Spiders than GTV's.

Good work, mate! I look forward to seeing it at some point. Do you now own 3 red cars??

Yep, not really a big fan of it if I am honest :)

Its a good car to take to Le Mans you know...just don't think I can leave the Maser at home though.

That's spooky; I was going to suggest it was a Le Mans chariot, but then I thought you can't not go in a Maser if you have one!

Yes, going to Le Mans in another car when you have a GranSport on the drive is just criminal!
