4.7 GTS in time will be the new GranSport, Strads will be the MCV's

4.2 GT will assume the 4200 position.

Completely agree, 4.2's are going to be the 'poor relation' in the GT line up. Cheap to buy, great to drive but not quite there as there was always something better.

Why would you want to buy an old troublesome Granturismo when you could buy a nice classic 3200GT for the same money

Its a no brainier, there's thousands of Granturismos's but only a handful of nice 3200GT's!

As a 2300 gt owner I totally agree , Dodger

Don’t think I’ll be swaping out my gs any time soon. As I have the comfort of the levante for when I need erm comfort and I have the fun of my gs when I need erm fun. Don’t think I have the need for the GT. I’ve always thought prices of cars that are driven are irrelevant. You pay your money have your fun. That will always cost. Or you pay your money don’t have fun you may or may not make some money or get it back. I just don’t see the fun in that.

You nailed it, Steve. Life’s for living and the more fun we can wring out of our short time here the better.

^ +1 You never know what's round the corner. If anyone's here humming and hawing, just get it done in 2018 and enjoy :)

This, but I think also a bit of this...

The GT is pretty common in comparison right?

I guess a lot of it depends on what the buyer is looking for too - see current thread comparing GS to GT. I read that thread which positions the GT as a heavy cruiser / comfort GT and the GS as a lighter more chuckable sport car. The GT doesn't appeal to me at all (looks and sound aside) but I suspect for the majority, the GT will be sporty enough.

Of course, since the GT is seen as the successor to the GS/4200, that'll help to keep it above them in terms of value, but the potential for higher repair bills, and different driving experience could see that change.
As always, it'll mean the GS rises above the 4.2 GT as it's seen as a better drivers car, but the poor old 4200 will remain the bargain for people like me ;)
