I'd like to know who his dealer was.

He used Edinburgh.
I have in last 6 months been into Edinburgh and Newcastle where I eventually bought.
Both first class. Ongoing contact from both giving me updates on "news". Invites to events. Emails about Biturbos they have seen advertised.
Would I buy again. Yep.
Running costs less than my 4200 and that was using an indie. Warranty service on another level. Only issue I had was a fuel cap which started playing up. Replacement in post that night first class. Told if any issues with fitting (there wasn't) they would send out to my house (I am 200 miles from nearest dealer and they knew that) a factory technician to fit it.
Depreciation much less than comparable priced GT which was a possible purchase.
Pulled fuse 22 and not as loud as the Maserati but loud enough for me.
Heard tales of reliability but don't personally know anyone who has had issues.
However none of us here can pretend Maserati don't have a reputation for poor reliability. Justified or otherwise.
Reckon the old Vantage will have bottomed out price wise.
I wanted to scratch the AM itch and only regret is I didn't do it earlier.

Seems a few people agree - 80% of 2018 production sold......

All 2018 allocation now reserved Dave.....not a suprise really. Expect to see the first used one at a premium ...Bound to be a few speculators in there expecting to make a quick profit.

Great! Hopefully lots of current V12S owners will be chopping in their cars and ordering the new one. I'm praying for an excess of supply and the used market to plummet.

Ah sorry Andy. I was there but it was a last minute decision on my part. FWIW here are my thoughts All personal opinion of course.

Rear view, rear three quarter view and side profile all stunning, I like the roof and profile. Personally I would need to keep the new side strake thingy in body colour.

Interior I am neutral on. It is OK and probably the best they could do integrating the Mercedes tech and you can have a lot of fun (and spend a lot of money) specifying it - in fact the options list is bewildering interior and exterior, I have yet to play with the configurator where it hopefully becomes more obvious. It does look like it would be a challenge to spec a car under £150K. All of the launch Designer Options bar one get you there straight away.

Underbonnet - Underwhelming. Disappointed with this, acres of black plastic.

Noise - impressive at first but not like any Aston we have previously known and would soon become tiring I think. A bit lary. However it may win some conquest customers which is surely the point of this car?

Front view - this is where it all goes wrong for me. I actually like the grille and splitter (but not gloss black on any part of the car which means some expensive carbon required). What needs to grow on me are the pisshole in the snow headlamps. This then leaves a very wide flat bonnet. More sculpting, a bigger bulge on the bonnet and/or vents would help break this up but as it stands, maybe colour depending, it looks very odd to these eyes. I am sure it wil grow on me.

Apparently the new Bentley GT launch next door in Bristol did not go that well with no orders placed and several orders cancelled and I think this is a cracking car on paper for its target market so what do I know? smile

Not a suprise and you aren't seeing many coming onto the used market now...Especially the manual cars.

Thanks for your thoughts on the evening.......Would have loved to join you ...May have to pop in soon.

Yes found that one very informative.....not the normal PH drivel you get on some of the PH forums. There is a good cross section of owners and good advice.

Dave, you can get you check book out as Bristol have a few 2018 allocation still available. Had a message from their dealer principle......Now how much is the family worth do you think.
