Only an indie inspection would reveal them, lots of things done which haven't been done often on other 4200s, so how it now looks and drives are deal breakers

Definitely worth a look, sounds like it has been well maintained. As Parisien says, see how it drives, have it inspected and see how good the bodywork is. If all that stacks up you've for yourself a cracking car.

A good advert with lots of info.....Looks like a very nice car and I love the dark blue leather .... Had it in my 3200 and is a much better blue than the in your face bright one they di...Well worth a look and inspection I would say...Price is good to.

No Dave, it's the one area of the country that has no indies or main dealer now. Nearest good ones are Autoshield in Manchester.

As for the SL350, not a bad choice if it ticks your boxes

Seems a decent car and looks OK, but as said, needs an inspection to be sure..!! I live in West Yorks and take mine to Autoshield, it's worth it..!! There is a specialist in Sheffield, but I do not know anything about them, they used to be Millbrooke but had a name change to I think Supercar Centre..!! The repainted section under the rear offside light mentioned, this is a rust spot and if it has not been repaired correctly and just painted over, it will come back..!!

I sure do.....So much car for the money........As fast as my M3, yet more comfort and a V8 as well...All for under 7k.......What's not to like.....Its a great way to travel everyday for the money.

I bet, reasonable deals too. I had a 645i a decade back before I got the 4200, just a bit tight in the back.

I don't mind it tight in the back.....Anyway on to the 6 series...I agree..there was more space in my M3 in the back but my two boys fit in perfectly and they love the two separate seats in the back......

I must say I am rather taken by the 4 door version of the 6....

Hi guys,

The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed that I have just re-priced the car to £13,495 (from £12,495) on pistonheads. The car has developed a slight coolant leak and I have damp footwells. I strongly suspect the heater core matrix has gone (common issue) and although an Alfa part can be used, the dash still has to come out to fit it. I suspect the bill to cure will be nigh on £1000.00 which is why I have re-priced the car. That said, I want to be fair to fellow forum members and so anyone buying the car before the end of November and mentioning this forum post can have it for the original £12,495 (firm) with the heater matrix fixed. The job will be getting done over the next 7 -10 days.

The guys at Sheffield (all ex Graypaul) are very good and know the car well. An inspection there would not be a problem, albeit the car has only just gone through a full written health check at JCT600.

The car is a bargain though I say so myself.
