Hoping to get on the Merc track this year as 4 years up the hillclimb is enough, particularly in the wet!! :)
I have had no luck getting the Alfa accepted on the Merc track though in past years.
Anyone know if Phil's doing the Longcross event again on the Friday. Was it OK last year as I've not seen any feedback and keep forgetting to ask?

Adam (Mr Beans) did Longcross and said it was a great run event with plenty of time at the wheel. I think his advice was to use Trakktape as it literally covered the front of his 458 and a respray was in order. Not seen anything yet on Longcross for this year but I'm sure Phil will send out details soon.

Great track, fantastic gradient changes, swooping curves and a banked corner, plus a long straight to hit 145-150 in the Masers. Just made Brunty seem like a mill pond; go prepared!

If memory serves me correctly it was only about £150 wasn't it?
Will try and make it this year.

Phil has confirmed that the Longcross track day will follow a similar format to last year, but he has yet to confirm costings.

Mark - I think your estimate is about right.

Having tracked the motor at Llandow last Oct, I might have a go at this this year if possible

I think last year Phil W was offering batch runs round the circuit behind a 'pace car' for a hundred quid or so which just didn't appeal to me!

Reading the feedback from the posts though it sounds that it was far more interesting than the sales pitch had indicated.

If it's on offer this year it will be tempting to verify Alfas claimed max of 'at least 240 kph' and a slingshot off the banking onto the long straight should allow this?

The pace cars were a Huracan and a 488 GTB that were being driven hard - the Huracan was hitting 165 at the end of the straight. It would then slow down to let the slower cars catch up and then set off again around the track with us in pursuit - it was great fun, apart from the stone chips!

Update from Phil - looks as though the price jumped:

AUTO ITALIA PRIMAVERA

April 28th & 29th

Longcross & Brooklands

Following last year’s very successful two-day combination of events we are repeating the format for 2017. The popular driving experience for owners of selected Italian cars will return to the private Longcross test facility (and Auto Italia’s photo location) on Friday April 28th. The traditional Brooklands Italian Car Day will be held on Saturday April 29th. With the events being held over consecutive days Italian car owners have the opportunity to take in two neighbouring venues.

The Longcross driving experience is not a conventional track day that places stress on both cars and drivers but an opportunity for owners to demonstrate their skills. The 2-mile circuit includes fast straights, banked corners and a hill in the ‘forest’ section. The demanding nature of the course requires the use of pace cars to control the groups of cars. Numbers will be limited so drivers will have plenty of laps.

Because the venue is not open to the public attendance needs to be pre-booked. In the first instance Italian car owners should apply to the organisers with registration details of the car they wish to enter. Subject to entry acceptance the cost will be £200 per car and includes a three course Italian buffet lunch. The fee for nominated additional drivers is £50 including lunch. Lunch for drivers' passengers or guests is £25 per person.

Owners of Italian cars are invited to join the paddock display and space will be set aside for clubs. There will be a track parade for all cars during the lunch break. The cost is £20 per car. On site catering will be available.

Closing date for all applications is April 18th. For entries contact mail@philwardevents.com
