Just driven down to Rome via Switzerland en-route to Greece via the ferry from Ancona and the bl00dy I-ties have put average speed cameras on the autoroutes.
And there was me slowing for each camera and doing 130 average between until I read the sign. Bu11ocks!!!

Nice pile of fines when I get back.

QP going like a dream. Love it

Was that kph or mph?

I guess its an indirect way of bailing out the Italian government.

Will they chase you for the fines??? France seems not to and they love red tape and have a huge civil service.

Hopefully the cuts to the Italian fine enforcement buro has hit their forieigh section.

You should be ok. If not, send the fines back with a little note saying 'F*ck off'.

Yeah just ignore them I do.

Pisa police are still chasing me for €200 for driving in a restricted area.....basically I drove right up to the leaning tower because I was too lazy to walk. Great view though.

Oh, if the Pisa police are reading this thread, f- off, your not getting it!

Thanks for all that very helpful advice based on sound international relations of the highest order. F..k off does translate very well though......

Just boarded the ferry to Greece and they held up the entire convoy of cars and vans so they could position the maser right by the entrance all on its own with bollards around it. Cool or what?

It's the game some of us play; they try and screw you, therefore we have a duty to screw them. If they catch an English driver, we get banned at the side of the road and pay the on-the-spot fine. If a French driver gets stopped over here for doing the same, he drives off and dodges the fine. The deck is stacked against us gentleman, so play dirty.

MPH Simon. The radars are set at 138 kph which is about 85mph ish.

So you were moving pretty fast. My QP always seems a bit twitchy, how often do you get your suspension geometry calibrated?

Hi Simon,
Before I had the GTS Bilstein set up fitted I had the geometry always set with maximum negative camber on the rears and neutral balance and castor on the fronts in a more track biased setup.

The only downside is a slight tendency to camber steer on uneven surfaces but does give a more even tyre wear suggesting more rubber on the road more of the time. Plus I took the recomendation of the guys at the factory who say 2 bar allround makes it feel more planted.

The car's the star but we sometimes forget that for some people to get close up and friendly is an event they treasure. Never a day goes by when I'm not chuffed I own a motoring icon.

Sailing through the Greek islands at the moment at the front (well nearly) of a 200 strong fleet of racing boats. Tonight is going to be wild......
