Average speed cameras kill the joy

Hi Simon,
Before I had the GTS Bilstein set up fitted I had the geometry always set with maximum negative camber on the rears and neutral balance and castor on the fronts in a more track biased setup.

The only downside is a slight tendency to camber steer on uneven surfaces but does give a more even tyre wear suggesting more rubber on the road more of the time. Plus I took the recomendation of the guys at the factory who say 2 bar allround makes it feel more planted.

How does it handle white lines? My QP tends to be a bit skitish when going over the them especially in the wet. Can't understand as my GTV doesn't even notice white lines.

It feels fine but I do notice a slight figit if the pressures are too high. What tyres do you run? I have Pzeros and are fine.

The standard Pirelli PZero's with quite a soft wear index I seem to remember. My bet is that the suspension needs alignment.

thanks

Could be Simon but maybe go to a local tracking shop who understand geometry rather than just applying the factory spec.

Mine was very nervous on white lines to the point that one of my passengers commented "if I didn't know better I'd say you were fighting torque-steer there".

Then I had the front toe-out changed to neutral on the advice of McGrath Maserati. It transformed the car, much more planted. Pirellis, 2.2 bar. And now I have even tyre wear - which must be a good thing - on the previous toed-out settings the fronts were eating their inner edges for breakfast.

Done the sailing bit and now on my way north into Albania. Very reassuring when you pass road signs riddled with small arms fire. Roads are cr4p even before the last earthquake.
Maser going like a train and turning necks so fast its like I'm from Mars.

You're going into Albania? Sounds a bit risky with a Maser!

Hi Simon,
Just another adventure I could not resist. I will post some pics of the border when I get back. Very bleak.

Hi, did you pass straight through in a day or stay overnight? Won't forget news reports many years back just after the fall of the Eastern Bloc when camera crews were robbed of their equipment there.

The police guards at the border all wanted photos taken with the car but as soon as I got my camera out they panicked. Weird country and soon to be in the EU. Now that fills me with joy.......
I drove in.....sniffed the poverty and came right back out. The average wage for a bar waiter is 15 euros a day.

The border Post for the wonderful country of Albania set among lush rolling hills and charming old world police state architechture. If I took photos inside without a permit I would be banged up so this is it.

So how many miles will your round trip be? Probably longer than a Gumball rally?

Your photo of the border reminds me of when I went to Bulgaria about 10 or more years ago. Everything looked about 40 years old and broken. Guess with their EU cash injection its much different now.

Hi Simon
3600 miles door to door and yes you can tell they have money to burn on cctv, new police cars, raybans, and Hugo Boss design uniforms.
Glad to pay my taxes...........?

Not massively. We still set our watches forward two hours and back 20 years ;)

No, it's not that bad now. There are still plenty relics, however.
