Always makes me laugh when they put in back seats in some cars. I don't get the point as surely these can't realistically be used can they? Guess the car btw?

It is 4394mm overall length with a boot, then mid-engine and a bonnet with front seats. Surely they musty have thought realistically not much space left for 2 rear seats so put a storage bench in place.

This one is a bit shorter though!!

It is a bench in reality, with the option if required where someone could plausibly sit across it. As they do in our Brera. Plus I get to laugh at them trying to get in and out :)

There is the alternative to order with rear seats or luggage shelf. The rear seats were ok for my daughter up to about 8 years behind the passenger when I had one. Great driver’s car, but a bit underpowered unless in at least S form. The chassis can take a lot more power as has been proved subsequently.

I read the S was better to go for but then the starting price moves up a notch. Then you startling looking at later facelift/MK2 cars then the price jumps again. Not such a cheap car then.

Is the early non-s so bad?

Is it not some marketing thing, Aston DB7 & 9, some 911's rear seats unusable. Never tried the rears in an Evora but have heard a number of people say they can work with small children. Maserati & Alfa both have shown you can make 2+2 coupes with real space with 4200/GTS & GT the later even has a sensible size boot.

My Fulvia is tiny and has a rear bench which in mine is unusable due to fixed bucket seats and harnesses but in a standard coupe you can get children in without compromising the driver and passenger too much

It is indeed for tax purposes only.

This is why the Afla GTV had the same laughable rear seats and the UK did not get the turbo.

The governments make the rules, the car manufacturers navigate round it.

Have you seen the comedy back seats in a Ferrari California? Utterly ridiculous.

You ever tried sitting in one? Your legs don't fit, and you'd also need to unscrew your head because it would otherwise be in the same place as the roof.

I'm very much enjoying having a car with only two seats. It appeals to my quest for isolation as well as my OCD, as there's no risk of hoof prints and scuff marks from people clambering in and out.

I think 2 seater cars are seen as inefficient, stick 2 so called seats in the back and Voila...its efficient!

Evoras with the parcel shelf rather than the back seats don’t sell. Whether they’re useable or not everyone wants the seats.

It was one of the options I was looking at before I bought the 3200. They’re were some 2 seaters that hung around on the market for ages.

OK for my two when they were younger. I took all for of us out in one and had no complaints but then I'm short so the seat wasn't all the way back.

I've actually sat in the back of my 3200GT, expect for getting in it was fine!

Regards the Lotus thingy, the rear seat design/trim looks awful, compered to the lovely arrangement in the back of my old maser... the Italians are the only people you can trust with pencils!

The Lotus back seats wee for kids. They said that in the original brochure and never said they were adult size.
