Bad pong in boot when exposed to rain. Ants.

For a while now, I've noticed a bad smell in the boot when the car has been out in heavy rain. No dead bodies in there recently. Up until the last week, it's been very dry here in Brisvegas, but it's happened again today after being out in a heavy downpour. I guess there's water getting in somewhere but the boot is dry and the seals are fine. Maybe water is getting in underneath somehow. Any ideas where to look?

And yesterday, I had about twenty ants wondering around the back of the car! Hosed them off, and saw just one today. Little buggers.

I once had a dead rabbit in the wheel arch of a car when I was younger.
Must have been up there for month, and was only when it rained that I got a bad smell.
