Oh dear that is the first sign the Maserati virus is starting to take hold, soon you will be as mad as the rest of us trying to convince the rest of the population that Maserati really is an alternative to an Aston, Ferrari etc.
What? So they could all flock in and drive up the prices? No way, I'll keep it secret. At least until I buy one for myself...

....My biggest concern at the moment is caring after the car: I will need to keep it outside. Of course, I will get ceramic coating and rust-proofing of the undercarriage done. I will also try to cover the interior from UV. Is there any other sound advice? I’ll be using the car at least weekly, so it’s not a long-term conservation storage I’m after.

Outside is fine, especially if you can admire it from inside.

.... I’m somewhat torn between a Quattroporto and a Granturismo. QP is more tame and limousine-y, and GT looks very nice and sounds (pun intended) like a car I’d enjoy driving.

You don't have to use the rear seats all the time to enjoy a QP. Some people just like to have a bit of room as they graciously get into their executive express, and some people like to be really cramped as they fold themselves inside their tacky boy-racer-mobile. A QPV GT S is not at all tame, and nor is a 4.7 S if driven fairly hard.

As @Ebenezer suggests, it is also about gentlemen in nice suits who are members of clubs vs blokes in shorts who like a kebab. Or you can have the best of both worlds: a QP and a kebab!

Are you a sophisticated debonair silk suited, with a whiff of danger and excitement about you, saloon man, or a backward baseball hatted cargo shorted muscle man tee shirted, with a just a whiff about you, coupe man?

Think carefully :)

Eb
Eb, please clarify: should there be a comma after 'backward'? To be clear, not all coupe owners are backward.

It's all a bit open to ambiguity, isn't it? A few well-placed hyphens and, no doubt, some disambiguating commas would have been helpful.

I think the main point he was making is that coupé owners smell a bit.

Coupé owners: first to the party, last to leave.

I would say that all QPVs are 'fully depreciated' at this point and a bargain to buy (except a few of the GT S model that have crazy prices).
Well, in theory, all Ferrari 250 GTOs also should be fully depreciated, but for some reason somehow still manage to hold onto a modest value

omg, no stereotype descriptions in this post at all!
just as an advisory, even tho i ended up with a 3200 then a GT, what pulled me to maserati in the first place was TG's classic episode with the QP, AM and porsche........need i say more, 4 doors or 2, that engine is sublime!

You've forgotten the soft tops - come with a variety of names - but they rule ( at least should do)!
Are you a stuffy old codger who wear red trousers or tweed , listens to radio 4 and harks back to the good old days then the land barge QP is yours. Or are you an energetic person with a zest for life and excitement, listens to 6Music and looks forward to the next adventure in the most stylish and aurally pleasing coupe?

Think carefully.

Tacky boy racer mobile? Nice.

Have you actually sat in one, cabin is huge for a GT car, no folding required.

I suppose we could all forget being polite and just say what we see. I see a 2010 QP and think Albanian gangster. Etto though :)

Yes - the GT linked in this thread with white interior.

I wonder how much pricing is driven by current economic downturn or if it’s just the mileage on that example
It’s just where the market is, I sold this mint one back in December ‘22 and being an automatic it was more desirable:
