Anyone advise best battery for

Ghibli v6 diesel 2015

It has stop start so you need an AGM which are very expensive. You can get a lead acid EFB start stop technology one for half the price. That’s what I would do.

Indeed, stop/start for me has, well, stopped and in the cold weather when left for a few days its a slow crank, been looking at an EFB, about £120 for a Benzina, AGM is £220 plus.

Went to start my 2014 Ghibli at weekend after not using for couple of weeks and its completely dead ,zero electrical power no dash headlight or crank over not a sausage , have trickle charged with a gtek (saying fully charged 5 dots etc) still no sign of life only power light showing is the 'Off "on starter switch, have changed key fob battery and wont even recognise that (boot open lock Etc) all very odd . had a look on Halifords seems they do a AGM019 for £234 (Less !0% offer) so may well have to order. if that don't work then I'm stumped .

I used Tayna for my previous car, a BMW. Not replaced a battery in the Ghibli yet. A couple of YouTube videos suggest it is an easy DIY job on the Ghibli. The BMW required a code reader to pair the car to the new battery, but the Maserati looks like a simple replacement job.

I think it’s just to tell the car that it’s a new battery and confirm the spec so it gets charged properly. I thought the Ghibli might be the same and was going to see if my autel could do it

I did the battery on mine. Usual stuff after like windows up and down fully, steering lock to lock and apart from that it was all good. No plug in was needed

Just a comment regarding Tayna. If you buy from them and have an issue, you pay the return postage and if they don’t find a fault you have to pay to get it back.

If you buy from ECP or even Halfords, if you have a fault they just replace it.

Why, is the just another way to milk car owners?

They have a map of the battery performance over time to inform things like stop start and smart charging. The reset tells the car to restart the cycle.

So the GFs SLC was subject to a recall for the SOS location system (another thing that's a waste of time and effort).

Whilst there I suggested she gets a new main battery as its 9 years old and still on the original.

3 hours later they tell her there is a problem, the display is saying the battery is not charged despite 2 new batteries being tried. They would need to run a diagnostic to find out what the problem is for £178.

The car had no issues before hand...I suspect its the auxiliary battery for the stop start etc... she drove it back and no problems but the display still says charge battery...suspect it now needs an new auxiliary one fitted... Will that need a diagnostic sync?..

She always has the car in sports mode so no stop-start used.

So what they are saying is that they carried out work to the car which caused a fault and they now want you to pay to work out what they did?

I assume they were politely told to return the car to the original state and jog on.

Sadly not Zep...car is home, on a C-tec, with the charge car symbol on...Will see what 12 hrs C-tec does.

It starts fine, hence the thought it's the aux...AA will be called tomorrow
