Hi All,

Quick question, i am looking to buy a BMC air filter for my gransport. All the ones i have found say for 2006onwards. My car is a 54plate im assuming it will be fine and there is no difference?

Cheers

Speaking of bmc..has anyone fitted it?

Any comments are welcome. On ferrarichat they state that performance is the same (it cannot change dramatically of course) and most have a different intake/exhaust sound.

I looked at the cost last week, £57.90 for the BMC filter, and £49.22 for paper element from Eurospares, and I did get a price from the main dealer and it was near enough the same as the BMC, so no brainer really!

I have one in mine. No sound difference and no discernible effect on performance. It should help the breathing a little and will last a lot longer than paper filters, so is worth it on a cost basis alone.

I had one too. No brainer as it's a high quality item and the stock one is not. Lifetime use with the proper cleaning/oiling kit too.

I fitted one 2/3 months ago. First, it is way easier to install than the stock one, the fit is much better. I did not notice a difference, there surely is a slight tiny one but you won't notice it really. It is not like you were putting an intake on a turbo car. The tricky thing is, if your filter is dirty, you would notice a difference anyway in terms of smoothness and response refitting a new stock one, so it is hard to tell what comes from where.

My car is already quite loud without the second cats and with the X-pipe. Honestly, there might be a very tiny difference like slightly more grunt but it surely isn't that noticeable.

Niko I forgot to tell you I have fitted this on mine. I have the exact same answers with ecarca! Good thing for you that I deal commercially for my store with the Bmc distributor so if you need I can order it for you and you will save the retail profit margin

Have you cleaned the maf since installing the bmc? It would help to see if the dust level inside remains the same as per oem filter.

I haven't cleaned it either but my MAF is unplugged (long story that has a thread) so it doesn't really matter ;)
