Have a look at the picture of the BMW i8..........IS it just me or does it look like its pushing a 991 911 out of it's bottom.....Once you see it you see it everytime you look at it...

Perhaps BMW have a thing about the rear of the 911....... I remember seeing a photo of the side view of the previous BMW 6 series with the boot lid raised in a car magazine pointing out that without the flat boot lid the rear profile was almost identical to the 911. I couldn't find the original picture, but with a bit of imagination you can see what I mean in this side profile picture.

Oi Andy! Are you slagging off my new car?!? (I've got one on order; scheduled delivery date: 13-Feb-15)

Seriously though, it is the only BMW of recent(ish) times (M1 excluded) that I like the look of! I was invited to BMW UK's HQs to see the car back in March, and it is rather awesome :D

Tasteful sir... I like that a lot.
Colour?
There are only 4 (main) colours to chose from! ...
- Ionic Silver (with iBlue accents)
- Crystal White (with iBlue accents or Frozen Grey accents)
- Protonic Blue (with Frozen Grey accents)
- Sophisto Grey (with iBlue accents or Frozen Grey accents)

I like my cars in black, so the closest BMW do on the i8 is Sophisto Grey (as per the photos in my previous post). (As much as I'm not a fan of wraps), I'm considering having the Sophisto grey parts wrapped in black (making it all black exc. the iBlue accents)... not sure yet though; any thoughts?

Photos of the i8 can be rather deceiving. TBH, I never felt the back end of the car was 'stretched' or 'extruded', although having said that, you guys are now making me paranoid and I feel I need to see the car again now! LOL

I like these a lot, but definitely now see a 911 coming out its a**e :)
Oi! Don't you start joining in lofty! LOL
The original M6's ar*e (the one shown in Rwc's post) was quite ugly and not in-keeping with the rest of the car; the new M6 does look better, but when I took one for a test drive, I found it to be a very compentent car, but it did not excite me in anyway like a Maser does... The i8 however is very different, and its design actually gets me excited... the aerodynamic features are a great feat 'form meets function'.

I'm hoping it will make for a nice DD.

I agree - I saw the car in Geneva, and it's better in the flesh than in photos.

I'm undecided. I like some of the angles, but now see a "turtle's head" every time I see the rear end!

Didn't realise it's a £100k car, will be interesting to see if it has similar residuals to other high price BMWs.

No T.....I think it is a stunning bit of design.....But it still looks like a 911 is coming out of its bottom.....doesn't bother me though as I bet on the road it will have amazing road presence......I like T..Looks great in the dark colours...
.
To be honest I have always like the 6 series as well...Yes not a pretty car and a 645/650 will probably be my next car with prices for a 2004 car around £7000/8000.

That's a hard one Mark...Stuff like the latest M6 GT is £110k new and can be had with a 30k discount. This car may be different due to the fact that its not your usual high end BMW. It's a bloody quick car but cheap to run if not to buy.

Performance

Top speed in km/h 250
Acceleration from 0–60 km/h on purely electric power in seconds 4.5

Elasticity from 80–120 km/h in seconds (5th gear) 4.5

Sorry don't see the 911 at all. As said the lines of the silver portion scream of Aston Martin.
