The bmw V10 is a great engine and what a bargain.....a maser is always more exotic and gets more people staring though

The fact you didn't says a lot about you, and it's all good!

The M6, as a play car, just wasn't special enough, especially as I drive a BMW everyday, albeit a lesser model.
Saying that, if you are in a position to run a M5/M6 as an everyday car, and have a Maser for fun time...

Interested in your comment about it being financial suicide to own one without a warranty. Surely warranties are priced at a level to generate a profit for the warrantor? Therefore all you are doing with a warranty is guaranteeing how much your 'repairs' will cost over a set period?

Just timing Wattie. the M5 is being replaced by a new model. The Maser made way for a more practical second car and will be replaced next year by a 3rd car/weekend blaster.

There are few daily drivers capable of delivering wallet pain like an v10 M5. I for one could not drive my car and enjoy it fully knowing any seemingly small fault could inflict a big repair bill.

Cheers,
Simon

You'll be averaging out against those that make no claims at all, so you may be a winner. It's like insurance, but not compulsory :)

Indeed it's a game of chance but warranty companies make money so you know what the average cost is less than.

Yes its an risk/reward thing and the insurer always wins otherwise they are in the wrong business. However since this one is underwritten to some degree by BMW its not that clear cut. BMW want to support their used car values and indeed their dealership network and customers so the payback is certainly calculated to a different model to the many warranty direct companies out there.
