Brakes

Just overhauled the brakes on my Quattroporte V at 40,000 miles. New discs and pads from Maserati quoted 1,000s. Fitted new EBC pads @ £140 all round and got Marcus at Disc Skimmers at Soham near Cambridge to skim my original discs. £240 inc fitting pads. Brakes are as good as new and I should see 80,000 miles out of the discs. Result. I thoroughly recommend this company.

Good to hear Arfa, what colour EBC did you fit, red or greens.

I must admit, I had the same issues at about 40k miles on my 3200, changed to EBC red and had the discs milled on a CNC, fine for about 1000 miles then had all sorts of issues. Ended replacing the disc, and the problems went away.

I found that the cheaper EBC green stuff was far better on a day to day use than the reds which frankly, I found dangerous.

Hopefully you wont get the same agro I did let us know in a couple of thousand how they are holding up.

Fitted Red which are the softer compound. Yellow are for trackdays. Watch this space I think.

Reds are a very hard compound, the greens are the soft ones. Agreed yellow are pure track.

Anyway, they did not work for me, but hey they may work for you, or even the compound may have been changed/updated.
