Just got back and feel knackered now but buzzing. Echo everyone else in saying what great day. Brilliantly organised and loads of money raised. I was really pleased with how the car performed - just need to improve the driver now! Great to meet everyone - a fantastic bunch of people.

Well done to Andy, Drew et al for sorting such a slick day.

Great to meet you David....and thanks for the passenger ride...Even though it was short lived it certainly gave me a feel for a 4.2 GT....Lovely care mate.

Took wife and kids out and Sod's law as we went round a Lotus 340R ahead took a spin into the grass through the chicane, I backed off as he was well off the line and carrying too much speed he ran out of talent.

Video shows the lap and the wife's shock and Anger at me carrying on lol.

Cool! Thanks for the vid.

Interesting how people take different lines.

Did the Lotus get done and were they banished from Bruntingthorpe?

On the second session I was at 145mph. Then it was lunch and then I had a puncture :-(.

Would have liked to see if I could have got anymore.

Have to say I was very impressed with the QP on my sighting lap in the rear seat!

Gutted I didn't try and go out in the M4. But it had too many teenage fans waiting.

No he wasn't asked to leave, I saw him later and asked him how his grass cutting was and he simply told me he ran out of talent, I wasn't going to argue with that!

Thanks to everyone involved,it was my first time and after a few tentative laps found the lines and really enjoyed it.
I think the 2 bags of asda clothes bought by the wife and kids kept some weight over the rear wheels....

Back home at last. We had a good run back this morning and missed most of the traffic. Lovely to be able to put names to faces. Pretty much an awesome weekend all round apart from a few negatives. Main one being the wait for food at the hotel on Friday night.

For me:
Highlights - Seeing the faces on the public after their rides. Friendliness of the SM members and the banter. A sighting lap in the Caterham (that thing is truly awesome). The meal after the event.
Funniest moment - Both of us were laughing our heads of at the whole gang being overtaken by a Smart car on the A5.
Downsides - Didn't go on for long enough and only comes once a year.

I didn't get to take many pictures as my phone charger had given up in the car and the battery kept going flat, but here's a few.

Great to meet you, Trev. I love the colour of your 3200 - better than Rosso Mondiale IMO!

There's a possibility I have some GoPro footage. I'll have a look tomorrow and post anything that might be of interest.

Bugger, no footage. I blame Chris!

To anyone thinking of spending a small fortune on a GoPro and associated batteries, cases, microphones etc. - don't. They're a pain in the backside, you forget to take them anywhere and when you do, you forget to use them or even how to use them. What a waste of money mine was!!
