Bulb failure warning light

Hi Guys
I have a little problem…..
When I brake, the brake lights both come on - and all is good.
When I turn on the side light / headlights they all work - and all is good.
When I have the lights turned on and then brake, the bulb failure light comes on. Not right away, but maybe a sec on or so after pressing the brake.
I have changed all the rear lights (side light and brake bulbs) but this has not made any difference.

Some time ago, I swapped the front side light bulbs for CANBUS LED, is it possible that I am getting the warning light due to one of the front LEDs starting to fail?

All of the lights look to be fine, side lights front and rear, brake lights, number plate lights, fog lamps all round! As it is such a pain to replace the front side lamps I thought I would ask before embarking on that one!

Any thoughts?

Regards
-David-

Do as I did and take the build warning bulb out. Swapping to LEDs (in my case 3200 rear lights) can cause all sorts of trouble.

I would trouble shoot it like this. If you have somebody who can check the lights while your doing it then its easier but if not park in front of a wall or garage when its dark so you can see the light level being emiťted and see any dip when you press the brake pedal.

1. Side lights on. Push brake pedal and have someone check the front and rear side lights stay on.

2. Full lights on and then press the brake pedal and have somebody check that headlights and side lights remain lit.

I have seen something similar before on another car which when they braked the front passenger side side light bulb would go out. iirc that was traced back to a problem with the bulb in the drivers side brake light socket. It was something stupid like a stop and tail light in a stop only socket.

Just to conclude this thread: It turned out that it was a failing LED front side lamp bulb that was throwing this error. Swapped back to standard bulbs and all is well.
