I agree.. just make sure the oil cooler pipes aren't corroded...Its an engine out job on those old Alfa V6 things!

Dave
The Q2 is not a V6 Dave, and the cooler pipes on the diesel is not an engine out job as far as I'm aware.

I'm looking for something similar Greg and I tripped over some entertaining reviews on YouTube last night by a guy called Davide Cironi. If you put his name in search, they'll pop up. He pulls no punches and seems to have reviewed just about everything recent and interesting to come out of Italy. Not altogether surprisingly for an Italian guy, at one point he compares a heavy car that he's driving, to going to bed with an overweight woman. I'll not spoil the punchline ;)
YouTube would never substitute for advice here, or personal experience, but I believe his views are useful.
The few vids that I watched last night were all in Italian, with subtitles.
Enjoy ;)

No your right Greg, I look after a mate of mines Q2 GT Diesel.. the cooler pipes rusted through, in the end it was a new cooler, pipes and a little bit of mechanical licence...

The old V6's on the other hand are a nightmare if this happens, less you botch it!

Wouldn't touch a JTS anything, the diesel is a good compromise but in reality the 3.2 V6 is the way to go. What you spend in fuel will be than made up for in smiles

Good luck Andy.. As many of those 3.2 V6 engine and gearbox parts are no longer available!

Seen both of them beau. Although I like the white I am just not confident about buying a car over eBay and would not know where to start :(
The red one I might give the garage a ring to see if there is some room for manoeuvre on price and px next week when I get back from being away at erskine show this weekend.

Buying on eBay is just the same though, if you bid and win, you can go and check the car out, if it doesn't match the description you don't have to buy it

95% of garages/ cardealers will simply pick a car up px or from the auction, drive it back, put it up for sale with no checks done what so ever (I have worked at and with car garages and spent lots of time in car auctions)

I went and viewed a BMW m3 at a garage in reading, dealer stated floor pan had been checked, I arrived, drove it down the road and thought something doesn't feel right, when I got back opened the boot and the whole axle carrier panel has come away from the car! Any private/garage/dealer seller you have to keep your eyes wide open
