Was a bit worried when I clicked on to this Stevie to start with.
Nope, no carpark dings or the like. I was genuinely thinking you in particular would love this. How many Renault 4's can you spot as you go through?

Takes me back a few years as I can still remember those scenes and cars for sure.
Renault 4 will always be a Star :)

Shocking weren't they. We had/have some of the best engineers and designers in the world, Not just in the car industry only they design it , nobody puts any money in so foreign competition ends up building it and selling it back to us.

Striking thing is the decline of UK built cars up to modern times.
In some ways. The peak in UK car output was 1.92m units in 1972. There have been lots of years this century where the number has been 1.5/1.6m units pa which is still pretty high. Obviously, though, most of these are exported as UK residents con themselves (myself included) that German cars are still exclusive even when they are sold in huge quantities.

It will be interesting to see if we get import tariffs on cars post Brexit and therefore how much import substitution we get as we have capacity to be fully self sufficient in car production.

I remember the first car I went in with a sunroof was a school mate's dad's Granada. Just like the one Cowley had.

When do these things look good as static art in your garden and when do they just look like a fly tipping incident?
