Mate of mine was killed on his bike in wales. Another biker came over the blind summit of a hill on the wrong side, and hit him (on his bike).

Unless you can prove it was totally the cyclists fault.....up on a manslaughter charge....

From preschool age kids taught the value of human life and its utter fragility when on the roads.........respect of those cycling and motorbike riders( all other road users).....the car/lorry/truck drivers need at all times to exercise extreme caution when they are sharing road with them

Oh, I was talking motorbikes.
Anyway, I'm not going to start contentious discussions on my favourite forum :)

A simplistic view - I think that the larger the vehicle on the road the more care the driver should demonstrate, unfortunately, I have found that to be the opposite.

E.g. Range Rover drivers hurtling around, and more scary are large trucks driving faster than I would drive a car on small narrow bendy roads.

We had all better watch it then, especially when we get in to triple figures. I have not hit another vehicle for maybe 30+ years, but I have been hit by a number just minding my own business..??

Only the other week when we were heading down to the Midlands Italian car meet, a car in the middle lane on the M1, suddenly decided to cut across the fast lane as we were alongside in Lady Stig's motor, we were forced on to the rubble on the central reservation and finished up snaking around at 70mph, a total ar5ehole and you can't stop and give them a thrashing..!!

Being smashed up the rear on your wedding day, sounds like quite a story

Not been hit, but did have a moment one night on the M6 when I saw a mix of red & white lights coming toward me just past a junction. Some muppet had missed their exit and was reversing back, but down the left lane...not even on the hard shoulder. Really have to wonder about some people and whether they should be in a vehicle other than restrained on the way to the institution.

I think that's quite a simple one to answer. 'No, there are some people who simply should not be allowed in control of a vehicle'
