Steve Write is a total narcissist, surrounding himself with his sycophantic team, transferring the show wholesale from R1 to R2. I agree with all the previous about singing over etc. Needed to hear his own voice constantly. But the single most annoying bugbear for me was the assumption he could shorten anyones name! Opening the show with “Thanks Ger….” Would have me switch it off instantly.

Radio 6 for me , although they are slowly ruining that now. It used to be a guitar based eclectic set list with presenters that know their music . This is now considered racist so they now have been ordered to play rap and black origin music every other song. This is starting to p1ss me right off so I tend to listen to documentaries on BBC sounds that were recorded before all this WOKE cr4p ruined everything . I also listen the some Radio 6 shown on catch up . Chris Hawkins early breakfast is good , so are Radcliff And Maconie on weekend breakfast . They did have their own weekly show but guess what? Yes that's right they booted them off and inserted Jo Whiley into their slot in an attempt to get her some ratings. Of course the show did n't last as she is a terrible DJ and they were shunted to Radio 6 . She was also forced on to Simon Mayo's award winning drive time show without even consulting him. He resigned and the show was cancelled, and now its hosted by the truly awful Sara Cox . I would n't worry as the BBC will be out of business in the next 20 years as kids today don't listen of watch tv or listen to the radio .

You’re not wrong about Whinney. Hawkins is very good and well worth a listen. Tom Ravenscroft is also good, much like his dad.

I do like Chris "The Hawk" Hawkins. He's not too hectic in the mornings. It also makes me laugh when he referes to his wife and Mrs "The Hawk " :D

Could never stand Steve Wright regardless of which radio station he was on but after moving here you realise that no matter how bad UK radio was great in comparison. Given up with live radio, other than sport, streaming radio only now. Radio Paradise is generally my favourite with different mixes to suit my mood. Other than that its my own music selection, via playlists or direct connection to my own music library.

Same here Andy. Everytime he opened his mouth he got right on my pip.
