Hi small issue the previous unit that supplies light to the glove box and switches the boot and fuel flap had the buttons starting to stick. Took apart cleaned etc and replaced it. Flap ok, light ok, boot no responce. So ordered a new unit only £10.21 from eurospares. Arrived tried it today no light coming on no boot opening just the fuel flap this time.

Swaped everthing over bulbs OK old unit back in fuel flap and light ok no boot. Swaped again for new unit no light no boot only fuel flap!!! very confused.

Would appreciate any suggestions socket appears ok mooved the connector no change?

Advice please peterC

Put the original one back in and swap the two relays in the boot over. Above the battery are 2 blocks of relays and fuses. In the upper block, the 2 relays on the right, one above the other are: top-fuel flap release; below-trunk lid release. (In the owner's manual: boot relays G & H)Now first check your fuel flap release works. If it does, swap these 2 relays over. If the problem is a faulty relay the trunk release should now work, and the fuel flap won't.

Try some silicon spray on the release mechanism then.

I would want to be sure that the relays are new as any weakness in one could fail say the boot mechanism (it will require more power to release the boot than the fuel flap)

Yep tried spray when servicing it. The last resort will be to take it out with a small power supply and some leds and see if the switches are working. Also changed fuses as well all were good. To be honest have not tried acreboot. Everything else works and the information on the boot door openings on the dusl in red allwork.

Check that the solenoid is getting power when you press the button.

Does the boot release when you press the key fob button?

Hate to say it but i had this problem and i cant remember how i fixed it. i opened the boot with the key for over a year until i worked it out, and i cant remember what it was, dooooh. I think it was a combination of fuses, relays, stiff and badly adjusted lock mechanism, and some wiring issue around the glove compartment? so you can just open the boot with the key right!!!! :) and key fob opening the boot, no sign of that feature on my car.

Thanks checked the switches on the new unit and i am 99% certain their is a fault in the seitch mechanism simple power supply clips and a bulb old fashioned but works so sending back to eurospares. Car back under cover so will have to wait until next weekend. I will take the old one out and check it for power etc. Might just leave in place and check with my trusty bulb and clips to see if power to the boot then perhaps work backwards from their. Until a week ago no problems in 7 years.
