Central Locking Fault?

Hi

Having driven over 250 faultless miles yesterday I now have a problem

My son was fiddling about with the passenger inner door lock switch yesterday with the door ajar. (Bored waiting for me!)

Now when you try to lock the car with the remote the passengers door keeps locking & unlocking continually.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have resorted to locking using the key in the drivers door which seems to work fine & does lock the passenger door at the same time.

Thanks Lee

Won't do any harm to carry out a battery reset to see if this clears it before delving further.

The battery reset is a red herring... The problem will be with the drivers door lock. The passenger lock follows the position of the drivers lock, when u are using the fob, the drivers lock will close, & the passenger lock will follow, the drivers lock however is not moving to the fully closing position, & operating the "closed" micro switch, hence the passenger lock is cycling. By using the key, you are moving the lock barrel against the the micro switches directly, which allows the passenger lock to operate correctly.
So if your still with me, the fault will be down to.
Either:-
Faulty drivers lock unit
Disconnected operating rod.

Trust this helps

Finally got round to stripping the door down on friday.

Fault found to be drivers door lock assembly motor had given up the ghost.

New lock coming from Gray Paul tomorrow.

Tightened & greased the window mechanism whilst door stripped, got rid of that annoying rattle when the window was partially open.
