Well how is this for a public confirmation of my affliction for BL metal.
Chuffed that my '76 Jaguar XJ-S V12 manual made font of front cover of Classic Car magazine this month! Made all the effort to get it to the photo shoot at the end of last year worthwhile.
Classic lines, I would love one, reliability and rot issues aside (sigh, I bought a 3200) The later models get my vote especially the convertibles, you don't see many around
1970's car are really coming into vogue now, mainly because of rarity and the step-change in design from 50/60's designs. Remember that the XJS followed the E-type and its reception was quite mixed.
It's a lovely car. I had the V12 auto for a while and it was a total b4stard. Electrics were a disaster and then it rusted to h3ll. But it was still fantastic.
Driven both and the MX5 is the better car as it revs so much better being NA. The 124 has a massive lag and just feels detached somehow. Anyway this is all irrelevant as the one I bought is 25 yrs old Dave
