My detailer uses very fluffy yellow "towels".
I have a couple that he sent me, apparently the secret is to lay them on the body and smooth down then peel off rather than rubbing. It's the rubbing that gives the swirls if there's any grit left after washing.
Please note, I am not an expert on these matters, only passing on what I've been told. I start with the smoothing off method and then rapidly decline into general rubbing to get the car dry. However, I'd recommend the fluffy towels.
