Passing this on from the MAC (Midland Automobile Club), seems like a good idea to support:

"Closed road motorsport consultation: What you need to know and how to respond....
The consultation period expires on 10th April so there is a degree of urgency here. The crux of the matter will be the ability of local councils to suspend the Road Traffic Act without having to resort to an Act of Parliament. This will allow clubs to organise motor sport events on a number of British roads, as happens in most of mainland Europe. Imagine how good it would be if we could run a hillclimb or sprint on a public road! There would be a positive impact on the local community, with tourism and spending benefits as well as excitement amongst local people. The official consultation document is on the website of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, and it asks for a response to a series of questions. Only questions 1 - 5 are really relevant. Some suggested answers are shown in the link http://t.co/6RkQSaWRqB . To make a submission, click on the link and simply copy and paste the paragraphs and send them by email to msc@culture.gsi.gov.uk"
