Well, after much swearing and lobbing of tools around the garage, the subframe is finally back in the Alfa and the engine is now fully mounted.

Exhaust next, probably at the weekend, then I am on the home straight. Looking to fire it up next Wednesday.

The most annoying thing about the subframe is that I actually did not need to take it out, just remove the rad pack and pull it forward, gggggggrrrrrrrrrhhhhhhhh

Well done Matt, despite all of your other commitments, you've really got on with this quickly - very impressive. Looking forward to hearing the next chapter

I visited a mate from the old gtvv6 forum over the weekend (some of us may remember it), this is the back end of his V6 spider. Reckon it looks the mutz nutz.

Nice Pat!

What was his forum name, I will probably remember him.

Phase 2 3L Spiders are very rare too.

His forum name was Marky Mark - lives in Cardiff.

It's actually a 12 valve V6, so even rarer than you think. It's a LHD import.

Yes, remember him.

That is a rare old beast, we did not have the 3L in the phase 1 in the UK.

Are those seats aftermarket yes?

So the plan for this weekend is to bleed the brakes after fitting a new master cylinder, the old one had be cracked by the engine.

complete exhaust on then if there is time, fit the rad pack.

This will leave me my day off next Thursday to fit the final wiring, fill the fluids and go for launch.

Excellent, hope it all goes well. Then you can nip up and change the head gaskets on mine! ;) I still haven't found the space or the time.

Ok, so after last weekend being written off building Ikea flat pack furniture, the missus order some more, argh!!!

So this Saturday was spent building more of the f'ing stuff.

Sunday I told here, thats car day and it all went really well.

The brakes bleeding was so easy with my new vacuum system. Attach it to the nipples, open up the lines, let it do its thing for about a minute, then lock them off.

Had a small issue with 2 subframe bolts that got crossed, but I re-tapped them and the subframe is all finished.

Moved onto the exhaust, that all hung, front to back and the lambdas are routed and plugged in. I just have a small issue with the tail pipe touching the subframe but some longer hanger rubbers should sort that.

Got the rads out but never got time to assemble and fit but I will do that and the exhaust one evening this week.

Oil is in too so I only have to install the induction system, connect the battery and fit and fill the ac and water cooling so this Thursday, my day off, I will almost be certainly starting her.

After that, refit the bumper (easy) and a few bits of trim like the arch liners and pinkies crossed, she should be drivable.

Of course I will have missed something but that will just be a few days of fettling, nothing more....I hope!

Looking forward to seeing this. Lots of blood, sweat and tears but will be well worth all the effort.
