Coupe GT/4200 NIT Unit Removal

Im wondering if someone can clearly and simply list the complete functionalities of the NIT Unit in these cars.

Id like to completely remove the unit and associated pieces as my build aims to simplify and future proof the car as much as possible where I can.

Im in the process of upgrading the entire stereo system and while i am at it, im cleaning up wiring as I go.

Id like to know definitely, if I remove the NIT unit inside the center console completely, am I going to lose any other functions or stuff up some fancy immobilising system or something else sinister computer related?

The thread below will help. Also if you use the search function and search whats in the arm rest and nit removal there are some guides to removal.

If the NIT is removed you loose some lighting on the center consol and also loose the trip data functions like average mpg. I think they had a work around for the center consol light issue in the thread below.

Well you loose all the graphics, ventilation info as well as the trip computer stuff.

Ive removed the whole mess of a thing and as a bonus saved some weight (thing is heavy!)
