I have a problem with my courtesy lights , there work fine by pressing the buttons but don't come on when opening the doors or the light at the bottom
of the door . can any one shed some light on this , no pun intended.

Is this the same with all does, or just one? If just one it sounds like a switch or a wiring problem in that door. If all then probably some sort of control unit.

it doesn't work on both doors , any idea where the control unit may be and is this the same as the dimmer timer.

I think the switch is 3 way..On..Off ..& On when doors open, is it in the right position..??

He means the switch in the light unit, that you're messing around with to prove that the bulbs work....

Ok iam dumb than ;-) , there is no three way switch on mine just the two buttons one for the larger light and the other for the map reading light , ( on or off ) could it be the dimmer timer if I have one and if so where would I find it ?

I take it you have checked the door switches, they can get tarnished, but they would not both go off together, so could be the timer..??

Turns out to be the dimmer timer . Water ingress into the unit probably from the AC unit had fried the electronics . Changed it over with a second hand unit and now all is well. Cheep and easy fix , happy days
